Five for Friday #54

Oh hello there! Are you as excited that it’s Friday as I am?!? I don’t even have exciting plans for the weekend, but I’ll just be happy to relax a little bit! This was a full and fun week for me! I saw the movie Where’d You Go, Bernadette on Monday with some friends from my book club (we read the book a few months ago and just hadnt’ gone to see it yet!), had life group on Tuesday, bible study on Wednesday, and dinner at my sister’s house last night! Full but very fun! I need to do some deep cleaning at the house this weekend because I have ONE OF MY VERY BEST FRIENDS coming to visit next weekend (can you tell that I’m very excited?!?!) but I have a feeling I’ll spend a good chunk of it on the couch watching High Seas on Netflix… I’m a sucker for Spanish dramas set in the past for some reason (like Velvet which was THE BEST!!) and I’ve only watched 2 episodes so far but I’m all in! It follows 2 wealthy sisters on a ship traveling from Spain to Brazil in the 1940s and there is DRAMA! There are SECRETS! There is MURDER?!?!?!

But enough of that – here is what’s been on my radar lately!

one || I just got this white top at Walmart a few weeks ago and love it! My roomie also got it in the chambray color, and I might have to borrow it at some point. I wish I was able to wear the mustard yellow, but sadly that is the worst color on a pale person like me.

two || This sticky note set is the cutest! I don’t really use sticky notes that often at work… but…. I might need to start!

three || This candle from Target is literally the BEST smelling candle for fall!! It’s no wonder it’s sold out! I have the small size and will have to use major restraint not to burn the whole thing in one weekend!

four || I got this Healthy Feet cream because my heels were looking pretty rough and it is a miracle product! My heels are nice and smooth, and I didn’t have to go get a pedicure for that to be the case!

five || I signed up to bring something sweet to bible study in a few weeks, and there is a very good chance I’ll be making these fluffernutter cookies. Because fluffernutter sandwiches are the best and cookies are the best and so yes I’ll try the combination of those, please! I just finished my Whole30 and am still in the reintroduction phase, but I’ll be excited to try these very soon!!

Hello and happy Friday! I feel like so many things have happened in the last few weeks and quite a few things are different, so let’s do a little recap, shall we?!?
-I moved out of my townhouse and into a new place!
-I have a roomie now and she’s great!
-My roomie has a tiny dog and this is the first time I’ve lived with a dog! Ever!
-I’m a *~*train person*~* now! So instead of taking the commuter bus to work, I now take the train!
-I had one of my best friends come visit/help me move and we had a very fun and productive time together!

Ok I guess that really wasn’t too much, but there it is! It’s been a lot of fun to live with my friend – we’re both busy adults so we don’t actually see each other that much, which makes it REALLY fun when we are both home and can catch up and hang out for a little bit! She got me to watch The Bachelorette with her and now I’m a little bit hooked! The drama is so ridiculous and the guys are so handsome and we just die laughing at these crazy boys on the TV (mainly we just cringe at everything Luke P. says… if you watch then I KNOW you’re nodding your head in agreement right now!)

one || I randomly have a little bit of lavender essential oils that I found when I was moving, so I think I’m going to try and make this sugar scrub in the near future!

two || Now that Game of Thrones is over (what did you think of the ending?!?!) I’m excited for people to talk about literally anything else for a change, lol. I am a fan of listening to wordless music while reading on the train, and I’ve been going through the music from the show. It’s beautiful!

three || LOVING this Texas print! Too cute!

four || I want to go to there… but like really, sign me up to go stay at this BnB ASAP.

five || Why yes, I AM still very much into the Enneagram, thanks so much for asking!!! I loved this list of the best morning routines based on your Enneagram number. I’m not sure that they really *nailed it* but they tried!

I hope you all have a great weekend! I’m doing a glow yoga class tonight with a friend and it should be a lot of fun! There’ll be glow in the dark paint and you’re supposed to wear white! PLUS it’s in the lawn in front of the giant eyeball in downtown Dallas and I’ve ALWAYS wanted to get on that lawn but you can’t just like go there, so this is seriously a Dallas bucket list item that I’m excited to check off!!!

Hello and happy Friday, friends! I can’t believe that we’re already at the end of another week and that we’re so far into May already! Oh my goodness! This month I’m way less busy than usual (socially speaking) but the month is going to go by faster than ever since I’m getting ready to move! I’m in serious packing mode at the moment and plan on doing a lot more this weekend. My dining room is now full of piles of boxes and tubs and it’s really starting to feel real! I’m so excited to live with my friend Merideth in the cutest house ever – we get along so well and I just know that we’ll be great roomies! Plus she has the world’s tiniest and most adorable dog, and that will be a lot of fun for me – I’ve NEVER lived with a dog before! (Wait… have I?…. No I haven’t!!)

I’ve been finding a lot of old “gems” while packing, it’s been quite hilarious! There were old prom pictures (which have an ex-boyfriend in them but also I look very pretty so I don’t want to get rid of them! lol), playbills from musicals I saw years and years ago, postcards I got in NYC and forgot to send to anybody, and I even found a CD I bought at some concert who knows how long ago, tucked away, and NEVER LISTENED TO IT! The band is called This Wild Life and I still can’t remember for the life of me what concert they were the opening band for, but I’ve been listening to the CD in my car for a few days now just to make up for lost time! (Actually a quick and specific internet search tells me they were the opening band when I saw Dashboard Confessional in 2017, so mystery solved!)

Here’s what’s been on my radar lately!

one || I didn’t know I’d want a pink kitchen until I saw this one! The before and after pictures for the renovation are amazing – it’s just such a fun space that I would love to cook and bake in!

two || I somehow have like 3 bottles of lemon extract in my cabinet (I keep forgetting that I have it at home and then I buy another bottle for a recipe and so that’s where I’m at). I don’t love lemon-flavored things (I don’t even like lemonade, tbh), but these lemon raspberry macarons actually sound REALLY good! I’m going to have to try and make these soon!

three || I talked a little bit ago about reading Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s book and how I heard her speak last month and was really impressed with her. Well. Then I went and listened to her on an episode of a great podcast, That Sounds Fun hosted by Annie F. Downs and now I love her even more!! She was so real and I loved all her stories and I liked this episode even more than I liked her book. So if you want to hear more about her and her life/work/faith and don’t want to take the time to read her book, just listen to this episode instead!

four || I’m in my 30s now and I know that I need to start using skincare products with retinol, but I just don’t know where to start! I like the look of this little mini kit to try- it comes with eye cream, moisturizer, and serum. I might have to give this a try!

five || I haven’t used a physical planner in a few years, but I definitely like the look of this one! I like how it has a spiral inside, but a flat cover on the outside… and all those stickers! So fun!!

Five for Friday #51

Hello and happy Friday! I love having fun things to look forward to on the weekend, but I also hate it because it just makes the week go by so   s  l  o  w  l  y. Know what I mean? I kept busy this week with fun things (like work haha, helping someone work on their resume and do interview prep, going to the last bible study of the semester), but time just seemed to drag on because I was so excited for my college bestie to come visit me this weekend!! She’s here RIGHT NOW in Dallas and I could not be more excited! This is her first time visiting me here in Texas and we have so much fun stuff planned together! I’ll be sharing all the fun things we do over on Instagram if you want to follow along for the fun! (Find me at @kellymullican)

Here’s what’s been catching my eye lately!

one || I made these salted caramel rice krispie treats for our Easter dessert this past weekend and they’re so good! I’ve made them a few times in the past and they’re the perfect thing to bring for a group because they’re just SO GOOD. I love that you get a unique spin on a classic treat and seriously they’re so good. They’re so good that I even made them AGAIN this week to bring to small group and bible study. And I’m sad that they’re all gone!

two || Blue and green is forever going to be one of my favorite color combos and I love they way they’re combined here. So lovely! I’ve been drawn to all the home decor things on instagram and pinterest lately and I’m saving so many of them for future ideas when I buy my own place!

three || Big Little Lies is coming back!!! I’m interested to see what they do with it, though, since the book only had, well, the book, and now the series is moving BEYOND what was written. Did they consult with Liane Moriarty for character and plot ideas? Will the lies come to the surface and ruin everything or change things?!? I just don’t know but I’m excited to find out!!

four || I know I’m super super super behind on this one, but I just tried this micellar water for the first time to remove my makeup at night and IT IS AMAZING! I’ve been officially converted and this will actually make me want to take my makeup off at night instead of doing it begrudgingly orrrrrrr just forgetting sometimes… oops.

five || I always love a good top with a tie-neck! I’m definitely going to be waiting for this one to go on sale…

Five for Friday #50

Hello and happy Friday!! I normally only do these posts once a month, but there were just SO many things I’ve found and loved lately, I had to do another right away!!

one || If you’re not already following Brighton Keller’s blog, then go do so immediately because you’re missing out. She’s a Dallas fashion blogger, but she has been consciously moving toward writing about bigger, “more important” things (like self-improvement, organization, faith, etc.) and I’m here for it. I loved one of her recent posts about what to do when it seems like prayer isn’t working and it’s filled with good reminders!

two || Hi I have found the most beautiful spring top and it is the best color and just looks like it would be so flattering and I maybe ordered it and it will be arriving tomorrow and I hope it’s as lovely in person as it is online!

three || I might have mentioned this before, but it’s worth sharing again! One of my favorite podcasters (who wrote this book called The Wondering Years that I really liked!) has an email newsletter that gets sent out once a week? Once a month? I can’t remember. But it goes over things happening in pop culture, shows new movies coming out, includes a picture of a CUTE DOG every time, and it’s just great. I generally think it’s pretty annoying when people send out email newsletters and I never sign up for them, but THIS ONE is amazing and I read it every single time it shows up in my inbox and you should sign up for it, too!

four || Ummmm are you all as excited as I am for the Vineyard Vines collection at Target coming out in May?!? I can’t wait to see what they have and I hope it doesn’t sell out as fast as the Lilly Pulitzer collab did!

five || I didn’t think the perfect loafers existed, but then I found these bad boys and now I’m a little bit obsessed with them.

I’m so happy that the weekend is almost here! I am FINALLY getting to hang out with one of my favorite people tomorrow (hey, Arie!) and we’re going to see a short performance at the symphony! We’re both so busy and keep missing each other, so I’m really pumped for some good friend time and catching up!

Have a great weekend!
