Call Me… Creeper

I’m sure that just about everyone has heard the song “Call Me Maybe” by Carly Rae Jepsen. It’s so catchy and the beat just makes me happy! It often makes the playlist for my impromptu apartment dance parties.

Yes, my dance moves are awesome like Dawson’s.

One day while dancing away, found myself listening to the song- actually paying attention to the words- and I came to this conclusion: Carly Rae Jepsen sounds like a complete creeper. I might even go as far to say that this song nominates her for stalker status. Let’s look at some of the lyrics, shall we?

“It’s hard to look right at you baby.” This one is pretty obvious. She is watching him from the bushes across the street, and all the foliage keeps getting in her direct line of sight.

“And all the other boys try to chase me.” This one could have multiple meanings, I’ll let you choose your own. It could be this guy’s friends trying to distract her so that she will leave him alone. It could be the extreme case where she is being chased by the policemen who caught her being a creeper. But my favorite explanation for this line is that she is being chased by guys from the local law office who are trying to serve her with papers for a restraining order.

“You took your time with the call… you gave me nothing at all.” He clearly feels nothing for her and is just trying to be nice, which is a good way to try and keep crazy people calm.

“Before you came into my life I missed you so bad.” Her creeping is so intense that she thought she actually knew this guy already.

Those are just a few examples, and you might not agree with me, but I think the evidence is pretty clear. Also, have you seen the music video? She is creeping on her neighbor, watching him from her bedroom window and such. It shows her being a creeper! Too bad for her that the object of her stalker obsession affection plays for the other team. You’ll get the next guy you stalk, Carly, don’t you worry.
